One of the best things about the holiday season is that it’s an opportunity to attend so many different kinds of activities. From concerts and dances to house parties and other holiday-related events, there’s always a reason to go to the store to pick up something new and festive; especially if you’re a teenager.
So, if you’re a teen and you’d like a few ideas on the absolute must-haves that you should purchase to put in your closet before heading out to all of the holiday things that you have on your itinerary, we’ve enclosed a list of five of them below:
A black dress
As a young woman, you definitely should not go this season without a black dress. That’s because it’s a great staple because you can dress it up or down. Just make sure that you purchase one that comes in a fabric that you can wear in the spring and fall seasons too (like perhaps a dress that’s made out of organic cotton). That way, you can get a lot of wear out of it even after the holiday season passes.
A pair of dark blue denim jeans
Whether you’re a guy or a girl, you can never go wrong with a pair of dark blue denim jeans. As a guy, you can wear them with a sweater or a long-sleeve shirt and jacket. As a girl, you can also wear them with a sweater or a really nice blouse. Plus dark denim is appropriate for a casual or dressy casual occasion.
A pair of leather boots
One of the absolute best things about boots is that they are an attractive yet practical accessory. So if you’re going to go caroling with some friends or you plan to attend Nutcracker with your family, a nice pair of leather boots (preferably in black or brown) will be fitting either way.
A couple of holiday sweaters
OK, we can totally understand why the thought of putting on one of the Xmas sweaters that your aunt or grandmother gave you last year might make you cringe. But actually, when we suggest that you get some holiday sweaters, we’re not speaking of the ones that have Christmas trees or reindeer on them. What we mean is look for some sweaters, in your style, that reflect the overall holiday theme. Wool and cashmere are two great winter fabrics and emerald green, red, gold, silver, and even different shades of blue are nice holiday hues.
A blazer
Finally, something else that’s a really nice touch is a blazer. Although there are many people who use the holiday season as an opportunity to pick up one that is made out of velvet (and for some events, that can be a really nice look), don’t limit yourself to that particular kind of fabric. Just make sure that it’s one that is tailored to your body type, that the sleeves reach your wrists and that you can easily put on a shirt and sweater under it. A blazer is a classy way to dress up for the cold weather and receive a lot of compliments at all of your upcoming holiday events.
